It's about time we start moving away from those legacy codecs like .mpeg , .avi (Xvid, Divx) and .wmv .
.mp4 (H264 and x264) offer better quality in smaller form factor.

NA are fucking idiots. 3000k MP4 at this resolution isn't any better than 1300k because there's simply nothing to save on compressing. Most DVD's have lower bitrates, and that using oldass MPEG-2. The sole purpose of two decades of development of video codecs is that you can achieve better quality at smaller size. At 600+MB for a fucking 25min video you can simply encode every frame separately as JPG. Makes as much sense as buying a Ferrari and have it towed by mules, except that such Ferrari-cart will run on a normal road just fine while these MP4's are way too heavy to play on most normal computers.
Most clips here are encoded by dumbasses. They have no elemental clue to encode a video correct. The worst is this crap done with badaboom or other graphic card support or cheap external usb-videoencoding hardware that creates blocky h.264 - "but it's fast!".
Suckers, go and get+read some videoenc tutorials. Most stuff here is technically crap and that hurts. I forgot theres even worse: the crap in the forum that is encoded interlaced form a progressive source, thats the dumbest.
